Who we are

CloudWebSchool (cloudwebschool.com) is an independent educational website about cloud computing. We are not affiliated with Google, Amazon, or Microsoft. For privacy enquiries, contact us at vectorcloudsec@gmail.com.

For the personal data described in this policy, CloudWebSchool acts as the data controller.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum possible:

• Browser local storage (not cookies): We store your theme preference (dark/light) and your consent choices for analytics and advertising cookies. This data stays in your browser and is not sent to our server.
• Email enquiries: If you email us at vectorcloudsec@gmail.com, your name, email address, and message are stored in our inbox. We use your contact details only to respond to your enquiry.
• Server logs: Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log basic request data (IP address, pages visited, timestamps) for security and performance purposes. This is standard for all web hosting. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Analytics data: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregate usage data such as page views, approximate location, device/browser information, and referral source. We use this to understand how the site is used and improve content quality.
• Advertising data: If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may process cookie and device data to deliver ads, limit repeated ads, measure ad performance, and (where permitted) personalise ads.

Lawful basis for processing (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

• Legitimate interests: Running and securing the website, preventing abuse, and keeping the service available.
• Consent / user request: When you choose to email us, we process your contact details and message to respond.
• Consent: Google Analytics and Google AdSense advertising data are processed only when you explicitly accept those categories in the cookie banner.

We do not sell personal data and we do not run direct marketing email campaigns.

Tools (calculators)

The Tools section provides browser-based calculators such as the Cloud Run Cost Calculator. These tools run entirely in your browser. No calculator inputs (such as request counts, resource sizes, or cost estimates) are sent to our servers, stored, or included in analytics events. Calculator inputs are not personal data.

What we do NOT collect

• No social media tracking pixels
• No user accounts or profile data
• No payment information
• No calculator inputs from the Tools section

Third-party vendors and processors

• Google LLC: provides Google Analytics (measurement) and Google AdSense (ad delivery and ad measurement).
• Cloudflare, Inc.: provides hosting, performance, and security infrastructure.

Cookies

This site uses browser local storage for theme preferences and consent choices, and may set analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and advertising cookies (Google AdSense) based on your choices. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may also set technical cookies for performance and security. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Data retention

• Local storage values (theme preference plus analytics/ad consent state) remain on your device until you clear browser data.
• Email enquiries are retained for up to 24 months after the latest correspondence, unless we need to keep records longer for legal or security reasons.
• Cloudflare request logs are retained according to Cloudflare's retention policies and account settings.
• Google Analytics / AdSense cookies are retained according to Google's cookie lifetimes and your browser settings.

International data transfers

Our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may process data in multiple countries, including outside the UK/EEA. Where required, transfers are handled under Cloudflare's contractual safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses). See Cloudflare's privacy policy for current details.

Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

If you have emailed us, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies at any time
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
